The tragic news of the death of actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michele in their California home on Saturday came as a shock and a disappointment to so many who loved his work on the big screen. Reiner was also an incredible director who began his career with a number of classics that are still among many people’s favorites today such as ‘ This is Spinal Tap,’ ‘Stand By Me,’ and ‘The Princess Bride.’ Joe Neumaier, WOR Movie Minute host, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the legendary actor/director and his unprecedented career.

“I really do think people are kind of dismissive a little bit about the really phenomenal body of work that Rob Reiner had,” Neumaier told host Larry Mendte. “I don’t think any director had a seven film, technically even eight film run, that in the beginning of their career like he did.”

Neumaier believes Reiner’s films had a lasting impact on those who watched them: “These are movies that when you come upon them on cable, you’ll leave any one of those on; you’ll leave them on because they’re funny, or they’re smart, or they mean something to you.”
