The state of New Jersey will be electing its first new Governor since January 2018 this November as incumbent Phil Murphy cannot run again due to term limits. Jack Ciattarelli nearly beat Murphy in 2022 and will be one of the Republicans running in this election, but can anyone beat him in the primaries, and what is it looking like on the Democrat side? Mike Kelly, award winning journalist for NorthJersey.com, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the race and where the Democrats stand.

“Setting the stage for this primary is kind of like drawing a big question mark,” Kelly tells host Larry Mendte. “I think the Democrats are trying to find themselves.”

Kelly believes the path forward is much clearer on the Republican side: “I think its Jack Ciattarelli’s race to lose not only in the primary, but I will walk even farther than this and say I think its Jack Ciattarellis race to lose in November.”
