This Saturday, May 17th, we celebrate all those who have served in the United States Armed Forces with Armed Forces Day. One point of emphasis for the Armed Forces this year has been recruitment and despite meeting their goals, they’re still looking for more. Brig. Gen. Chris Amrhein, Commander of Air Force Recruiting Service, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the recruitment numbers his branch is seeing.

“We’re meeting the goals to bring in our requirements in the Air Force and Space Force,” Amrhein told host Larry Mendte. “But we are also always looking for talent to get out there and build what we call the D.E.P, the delayed entry program.”

Amrhein talked about how working in the military can prepare you for a career after serving: “All of the jobs that are available in the civilian economy, if you will, I would say 99% of them we have that job skill in the Air Force or Space Force.”
