Car prices are one of the many things that are potentially going to rise with the implementation of tariffs, but higher prices does not always mean higher quality. There are many dangers and tricks to look out for when buying a car that can keep you from wasting your money. Ron Ananian, host of ‘The Car Doctor’ on the iHeartRadio app, spoke with Mendte in the Morning and shared his tips for buying a used car.

“I think buying that used car from the owner direct, you can save a couple of bucks but you got to know what you’re buying,” Ananian told host Larry Mendte. “They can go to NHTSA.gov with the vehicles serial number…they can run that VIN and see if there’s any open recalls on it.”

Ananian believes the most important thing is to not rush a decision when looking for a car: “It’s a project buying a used car; you want to take the time to go through the steps to make sure you get a good one.”
