All That's Left In The Trump Hush Money Trial Is To Wait Until Next Week

For the first time in what seems like forever, there is no news to report from the Donald Trump hush money trial. The defense rested on Tuesday, and closing arguments will not happen until next Tuesday. Now the real fun begins- guessing whether the jury will find the 45th President guilty or not guilty. As ABC News correspondent Aaron Katersky is quick to point out, the only certainty in the trial is we are all now waiting for the verdict. Katersky appeared on 710 WOR’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program to caution Berman and Riedel, who pressed him for a prediction.

“Anything is possible, I mean, because on one hand, it is a bit of a simple case. If you believe that the hush payment to Stormy Daniels was to preserve Trump’s chances at an election, well, then the records were falsified because they called that expense a legal expense. But it is a bit more complicated than that. There has to be some intent, and the only person to talk about Trump’s intent is Michael Cohen, who has some credibility problems- you know, at least one, maybe two- so the jury has a lot to think about.”

And Trump’s legal woes aren’t on pause with this trial, because Katersky reminded everyone that he has at least two other trials pending, starting with the missing documents case. “There’s a hearing today in Florida… and part of the reason that case has been so slow moving is because a number of pieces of evidence have been unsealed, and the fight over the unsealing of the evidence has really bogged it down… But the judge has not set a trial date there; it’s unlikely to go to trial before the November election.”
