Rachel Robinson, the widow of legendary baseball player Jackie Robinson, turned 100 years old on Tuesday.
In 1947, Jackie Robinson broke baseball’s color barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Rachel was by his side the entire time and has been a champion for his legacy and for minority rights since his passing in 1972.
Len Berman calls Rachel Robinson “one of the classiest” people he has ever met. He interviewed her in 2014 and talked about her place in history.
