Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is the second-longest serving justice on the court, having been appointed by then-President Bill Clinton in 1994. It's widely expected that Biden will nominate a Black woman to replace Justice Breyer – because that’s what he’s promised to do.
ABC News Correspondent Aaron Katersky stated that Supreme Court Justice Breyer was not forced out and leaves his post on his own terms while on the "Len Berman and Michael Riedel In The Morning" show.
"Breyer always said that he wanted to go on his own terms and he didn't want to die on the bench doing it now sends a signal that he wanted to retire when it was a quieter court," said Aaron.
