Rescue efforts continue this morning in Miami-Dade County after a multi-story condo building partially collapsed. It happened overnight in Surfside, just north of Miami Beach.
A search group was seen entering the Champlain Towers South building to see if anyone is trapped inside. At one point, a firefighter was spotted pulling a boy from the rubble and loading him onto a stretcher. A ladder truck was brought in to rescue residents in areas that did not collapse.
There's still no word on what caused the collapse. Witnesses say nearly of the of the building was reduced to rubble. Other buildings and hotels nearby have been evacuated.
There’s no word on injuries or deaths. Search teams are currently investigating a gas smell reported by some of the first responders.
