WATCH: Pastor Tells Women To Lose Weight So They Look Hotter

Just because you’re preaching the word of God doesn’t mean you should say everything single thing that pops into your head. Stewart-Allen Clark is a pastor General Baptist Church in Malden, Missouri…and he’s learning that lesson the hard way. During a sermon filmed by a member of his flock, he told the ladies they should “lose weight” to avoid giving their boyfriends and husbands reason to be “distracted.”

The 55-year-old ‘man of God’ started his colossal foot-in-mouth monologue by pointing out that women tend to “let themselves go” after they get married or comfortable in a relationship. Then, he followed that unifying observation saying each man is in need of “an attractive wife.” If that were the case, he added, there’d be no cause for their men to get “distracted.” Now, it’s quite possible that YOU think that…and maybe even agree with it…but it’s another thing to say it…out loud…on a church pulpit.

From there came the biggest gem of the sermon. Clark said, “Now, look, I’m not saying every woman can be the epic trophy wife of all time like Melania Trump…but maybe you’re a participation trophy.” There were also fashion tips, with Clark saying “sweatpants and flip-flops don’t cut it” and men need their women to look good outside of the home…and inside.

Since the video went public, General Baptist Ministries released a statement saying Clark’s “statements aren’t consistent with the positions and values of General Baptists” and his statements will be “researched and appropriate action” will be taken.

UPDATE: Pastor Clark has been put on a leave of absence and is seeking counseling for the statements he made during his sermon.
