General Secretary of the Salvation Army Greater New York Division Major Kevin Stoops said that because of the recent weather and Covid-19 the best way to donate is through text to donate.
"GIVENYC to 41444 and that's because people will recognize it. There are just not as many traditional red kettles on street corners and yet the need has been skyrocketing," said Major Stoops.
Len asked Major Stoops how much of a financial hit they've taken because of the pandemic.
"At the present time we are down 40% in our donations and it's huge with more than 130% increase in people needing help," said Major Stoops.
