Trump Goes Off On Fauci In Campaign Phone Call

President Trump is going off on Dr. Anthony Fauci. Trump reportedly was taking part in a campaign phone call and among other things, noted: "Every time Fauci goes on TV it's a bomb" and added it would be a "bigger bomb" if Fauci were fired.

The President went on to say that people are "tired of hearing Fauci and all these idiots" and called the NIH veteran a "disaster." “People are tired of hearing Fauci and all these idiots, these people, these people that have gotten it wrong,” he noted. “Fauci is a nice guy, he’s been here for 500 years, he called every one of them wrong.” Trump also served up a couple of snarky tweets for good measure.

What does Fauci say? Not much. In fact, he’s dismissed all the chatter as a "distraction." In an interview with a California radio station, Fauci said he’s got one focus: keeping the American people safe. “I would prefer not to comment on (Trump’s remarks) and just get on with what we are really trying to do,” he offered. “What we are trying to do is to protect the health and welfare and safety of the American people predominantly, and ultimately, of the world.”
