President Trump Visits California As Wildfires Ravage West Coast

President Trump says the West Coast needs "strong forest management" as wildfires have charred more than three-point-three-million acres in California alone. Speaking with reporters, Trump said there are a lot of options including removing "dried leaves" and making cuts so that wildfire doesn't spread.

While he and state officials met yesterday, both Trump and California Governor Gavin Newsom said they’re making wildfire management in the state a priority.

The glad-handing wasn’t without some argument. While Trump maintains that other countries around the world, such as Austria, don't have fires despite having much drier conditions – California officials pushed back. Dismissing one official's plea to not "ignore the science" on climate change, Trump replied: "It'll start getting cooler, you just watch."
