President Trump is denying a report he made disparaging remarks about fallen American soldiers. The Atlantic is claiming Trump called dead soldiers "losers" and "suckers" after scrapping a visit to an American war cemetery in France two years ago.
Speaking out via Twitter, Trump maintains he's never called fallen soldiers anything other than heroes. He called the report “fake news.” Trump also pushed back on the article's claim that he called the late Arizona Senator John McCain a “loser.”
He also denied the report when asked about it by journalists. "To think that I would make statements negative to our military and fallen heroes when nobody has done what I've done," for the U.S. armed forces, Trump said. "It's a total lie ... It's a disgrace."
