President Trump says a program designed to help get food to families in need will be getting even more money. Trump visited North Carolina yesterday and said one-billion-dollars is being put toward the Farmers to Families Food Box program.
Trump praised the program, saying it has delivered over one-billion pounds of food to those who need it most. He said farmers had no place for their crops or livestock to go when the coronavirus hit the nation. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue praised those who got the food box program up and running quickly.
Senior Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump says she has heard from families who benefited from this program. She said they became emotional when they knew that would eat, but the President's daughter also said they told her they never had something as nutritious as the produce that were receiving.
