President Trump took to Twitter in a big way yesterday and not just during last night’s Democratic National Convention. Mr. Trump started the day urging supporters to boycott Goodyear.
Referring to an image making the rounds of acceptable wear in the workplace, Trump tweeted that consumers can get "better tires for far less!" He also said Goodyear tires would be removed from government vehicles.
Later, Trump commented on mail-in voting, tweeting – "IF YOU CAN PROTEST IN PERSON, YOU CAN VOTE IN PERSON." Trump has made numerous unsubstantiated claims about fraud in mail balloting. At the same time, he often says absentee voting is "great." Multiple millions of Americans are expected to vote-by-mail in November's election due to health concerns about in-person voting during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
Fast forward to last night, Trump was back on Twitter, his CAPS LOCK was on, and he was tweeting up a storm. Among the highlights?
“HE SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN, AND GOT CAUGHT!” Trump tweeted as former President Obama spoke. A reference to a disproven conspiracy theory stemming from the FBI’s surveillance of Trump campaign associates in the run-up to the 2016 election.
Then, seven minutes later, Trump implied that there was more to the story behind Obama waiting so long to endorse his former vice president. “WHY DID HE REFUSE TO ENDORSE SLOW JOE UNTIL IT WAS ALL OVER,” he wrote. “AND EVEN THEN WAS VERY LATE? WHY DID HE TRY TO GET HIM NOT TO RUN?”
As for Harris, “BUT DIDN’T SHE CALL HIM A RACIST??? DIDN’T SHE SAY HE WAS INCOMPETENT???” Trump asked. While she DID go after Biden about bussing, Harris has never said viewed the former vice president as racist. She’s also never called Biden incompetent.
