On one side of the aisle – President Trump, who says he’s trying to save the thing. On the other side? The Democrats, who say the President is trying to steal an election.
At issue is funding – both in general, but also as it relates to mail-in ballots. Last week, Trump admitted to holding up funding over the ballots. Whichever side you’re on, something everyone agrees on? That this is a crisis. And that’s why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is calling lawmakers back to Washington, D.C. – she wants them to vote on a bill "to save the Postal Service."
Pelosi called on the House to return to session later this week to vote on the Deliver for America Act. The legislation requires the Postal Service to operate at the same level of service it provided on January 1st of 2020. In a letter to fellow Democrats, Pelosi blamed Trump for a "campaign to sabotage the election" through sweeping changes aimed at delaying mail-in ballots.
