Director Jerry Zaks: The Great Ones Like Hugh Jackman Never Stop Working

Multiple Tony Award-winning director Jerry Zaks, whose adaptation of the musical “The Music Man” starring Hugh Jackman was set to debut this summer before the pandemic hit, says it is unclear on when Broadway will reopen. "(If) anybody says they know, they are just guessing. The Music Man is scheduled to start up in May but no one knows," Zaks told WOR’s "Len Berman and Michael Riedel In The Morning."

During the interview Michael let Jerry know that the star of his show, Hugh Jackman, is still rehearsing like the show will debut soon. "The greatest ones are like that; I know he's been working with our choreographer and can't wait to get back in the room," said Zaks.

Jerry went on to tell us that while in quarantine he's been keeping himself busy by directing a few online benefits and he did a new seven minute play on Zoom to benefit the Homebound Project.
