The Recording Academy and CBS are set to celebrate essential workers with a brand new special. "United We Sing: A GRAMMY Salute To The Unsung Heroes" will air June 21st from 8 to 10 pm. The host, Harry Connick, Jr., was on 710WOR's Len Berman and Michael Riedel In The Morning show and said "We felt compelled to do something personally to thank all of these people that are keeping our lives on track like sanitation workers, teachers, truck drivers, and folks like that."
The two-hour special will have Harry and daughter Georgia traveling across the country via RV to thank and celebrate essential workers keeping the country safe during the COVID-19 crisis. "CBS sent a film crew with us to film it all," said Harry.
It will also feature performances by Harry as well as John Fogerty, Jamie Foxx, Herbie Hancock, Cyndi Lauper, Little Big Town, Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, Dave Matthews, Tim McGraw and Irma Thomas, along with Jon Batiste, Andra Day, Rockin Dopsie and Trombone Shorty.
