Composer Bill Conti "If It Didn't Happen, I Wouldn't Have A Career"

You know him from his work on the Rocky films, 007, and more! Composer Bill Conti spoke with WOR's Len Berman and Michael Riedel In The Morning show all about how those songs came to life. "I'm very proud [of the Rocky theme Gonna Fly Know], if it wasn't for that I wouldn't have a career," said Bill.

Michael asked how did the song itself come together? "The director John Avildsen had shot about 5 miles of Sly working out so he gives me about a minute and half of it and I write it and bring it into the studio," said Bill. He told Len and Michael that this process happened a few times until they got a total of up to three minutes and became a song because of what the director needed to complete the montage scene which you can see above.
