Trump Says He’ll Deploy Military To Quell Protests If Needed

President Trump is vowing to deploy the military to quell protests if governors do not take action. In a call with our nation’s governors, Trump said states need to deploy enough force to dominate the streets. Later, he addressed the nation and threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act.

"I am mobilizing all available federal resources, civilian and military,” Trump offered. “To stop the rioting and looting, to end the destruction and arson and to protect the rights of law-abiding Americans, including your Second Amendment rights. We are ending the riots and lawlessness that has spread throughout our country. We will end it now.”

He listed acts of violence across the country and said they are acts of domestic terror. Trump said they are not acts of peaceful protests. His remarks come amid violent protests across the country over the death of George Floyd in Minnesota. As we told you before, Floyd died after a police officer knelt on his neck during an arrest for nine-minutes.
