Former VP Joe Biden is leading President Trump by eleven points in a new national poll. The Quinnipiac [[kwin-ih-PEA-ack]] University Poll has Biden beating Mr. Trump, 50-39 percent. The same survey in April says Biden with a 49-41 percent lead. The former VP also has a hefty lead among independents, 47 to 36 percent.
With that in mind, the presumptive Democratic nominee is taking the Trump Administration to task over rural issues. Speaking during a virtual roundtable with Wisconsin farmers and rural leaders, the former vice president called the trade war "disastrous." He also said it has led to increased prices for products like food and clothing. Biden said farmers want opportunity instead of a handout.
That bears mentioning as Trump announced a 19-billion-dollar coronavirus assistance program this week to help farmers. To that end, a group of Virginia farmers visited the White House to cheer Trump’s program.
