Former Vice President Joe Biden appears on the list Obama administration officials made aware of the unmasking of Michael Flynn. So is then-FBI Director James Comey. The news came to light after being declassified by Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell. Is it a big deal? Depends whom you ask.
Kentucky Senator Rand Paul calls the revelation “a smoking gun if there ever was one," with respect to using political power for personal gain. Xochitl Hinojosa, the communications director for the Democratic National Committee says documents relating to Flynn's unmasking are "a distraction."
For his part, President Trump is defending his former national security adviser. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said what’s happening to Flynn is "disgraceful” and while he wouldn't comment on potentially pardoning Flynn, he did say Flynn would "be just fine."
