AG Barr Under Fire As Former Justice Dept Officials Slam Him In Letter

Nearly two-thousand former Justice Department officials are slamming Attorney General Bill Barr. An open letter repeats a call for Barr to resign after the Justice Department moved to dismiss the federal case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Among other things, the letter alleges that Barr has "once again assaulted the rule of law” – remarks similar to an earlier letter from the group, which ripped Barr's attempted intervention in the felony case against longtime Trump ally Roger Stone. The former Justice Department officials served in Republican and Democratic administrations.

Meanwhile, NBC News is eating a bit of crow after admitting that Chuck Todd aired a deceptively edited clip of Barr discussing the Flynn case during his "Meet the Press" broadcast this past Sunday.

After the edited and unedited versions became public (thanks for ‘Daily Caller’ reporter Greg Price), the "Meet the Press" Twitter account owned the ‘error.’ "You’re correct...we inadvertently and inaccurately cut short a video clip of an interview with AG Barr before offering commentary and analysis,” they write. “The remaining clip included important remarks from the attorney general that we missed, and we regret the error."
