Johnny Depp Joins Instagram To Send Hopeful Message

Johnny Depp just joined Instagram for the first time, sending a message of hope amid coronavirus to his followers – which reached the one-million mark within a few hours of the account going live. In a video posted to his new page, Depp says he’s never had an interest in joining social media… until now, as we collectively battle an “invisible enemy.”

Depp goes on to thank his fans for their “unwavering support” through the years – though he doesn’t mention his ongoing legal drama with ex-wife Amber Heard, his fans have been rallying for him throughout the court battle. And amid coronavirus, Depp tells fans to keep their hopes up, “stay safe and stay home,” urging people to “help each other” and take care of their communities and loved ones.

“I know for the moment it feels like both of our hands are tied behind our backs, and to some degree they are,” he adds. “But our minds are unbound, and our hearts are not chained, and we can care, and through caring we will help each other and we will prevail.”
