Senators will get another chance to vote on a massive coronavirus stimulus package today. This, after the trillion-dollar measure failed to earn enough support in a procedural vote, but another vote on the same bill will happen this morning.
Not surprisingly, there’s finger-pointing in both directions of the aisle. While Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blames Democrats and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the vote's failure, Dems including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are saying they couldn’t go along with a “corporate bailout fund” that doesn’t help average citizens more.
McConnell says the new vote will take place right after Wall Street opens for what's expected to be another dismal day of trading. McConnell suggested that could change the minds of some Democrats.
