U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts is slamming comments from the top Democrat in the Senate.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh will "pay the price" during a rally as the high court heard arguments in an abortion case. His exact words were "I want to tell you Gorsuch. I want to tell you Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won't know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,"
Roberts said in a statement that the comments are not only inappropriate, but also dangerous. He added All Members of the Court will continue to do their job, without fear or favor, from whatever quarter."
A spokesman for Schumer responded, saying the New York senator was talking about the political price Republicans would pay for President Trump's Supreme Court appointments.
On Twitter, Trump argued there are few things worse than a senator openly "threatening the Supreme Court or its Justices." The President thinks Schumer "must pay a severe price for this!"
