President Trump is suggesting his order to kill a top Iranian general was because he planned to attack a U.S. building. During an event at the White House, Trump said Qassem Soleimani was "looking to blow up our embassy."
He added they "caught a total monster" and it should have happened "a long time go." Trump didn't offer any more details.
Of course, this is an interesting turn given the criticism of the briefing lawmakers received about the attack was met with harsh criticism by lawmakers from both parties. What about now? A number of lawmakers – including Senator Tammy Duckworth – are wondering why that wasn’t said in the briefing in the first place.
