The Pentagon is confirming that Iran fired over a dozen ballistic missiles against U.S. forces in Iraq. Officials say the missiles targeted two bases in Iraq where U.S. troops are stationed.
One of the bases attacked was al-Asad airbase in western Iraq, while the other was in Erbil [[er-beel]] in northern Iraq. The Defense Department says the missiles were fired from inside Iran.
The attack comes after last week's U.S. airstrike that killed a top Iranian general. There's no word on any casualties at either base as yet – President Trump has taken to Twitter to say that assessments are being completed and that he’ll speak on it today.
