A giant winter storm that hammered the middle of the country this past weekend is officially invading the East Coast. While the National Weather Service says the storm could make life miserable for millions more, a tornado in Louisiana is already responsible for one death – another killing two in Alabama.
The National Weather Service says the Louisiana tornado traveled over 60-miles to the town of DeRidder in Vernon Parish, where one person died in their home. Significant damage is being reported, including structural damages to several businesses, homes, a church school, downed powerlines and fallen trees.
Meanwhile, two people are dead after a possible tornado roared through northern Alabama. The deaths happened in Town Creek, which is about 45 miles west of Huntsville. A number of others are injured as homes and structures in the area were damaged or destroyed.
