White House Responds to House Intel Committee Impeachment Report

The White House is calling the House Intelligence Committee's report on their findings in the impeachment inquiry "ramblings of a basement blogger." Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said the process is a "one-sided sham" and Democrats have failed to produce any evidence of wrongdoing by President Trump.

She added that the report "reflects nothing more than their frustrations." Grisham compared House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff to the basement blogger, adding that he is trying to prove something when there is evidence of nothing.

Similarly, the President agrees with that assessment. Speaking in London, Trump stressed that Republicans “have never been so unified.” Trump again called impeachment a hoax and said Democrats – and Congressman Adam Schiff, specifically – are "deranged." He insisted that he has done nothing wrong and again called impeachment an "unfair witch hunt." The Democratic-led House is expected to vote on articles of impeachment before the end of the year.

The Democratic report asserts that Trump abused his authority by pressuring Ukraine to investigate Democrats. At the time, the White House was withholding nearly 400-million-dollars in planned U.S. military aid to Ukraine. Trump is also accused of obstructing congressional investigations.
