As if Jennifer Lopez didn't already seemingly have all the honors and awards in the world, she just earned one that's often geared just for men. J-Lo has been named one of the GQ 'Men Of The Year' alongside Robert de Niro, Al Pacino, and Tyler The Creator.
As such, she's featured on one of the covers of the December issue - and in an accompanying interview, she touched on several different topics including her relationship with Alex Rodriguez and whether or not money turns her on. Some highlights:
She talked about how she is motivated by job satisfaction rather than lucrative contracts and reveals she pretty much did the movie "Hustlers" for free.
Not surprisingly (given her 'do it all' rep), she says that it was more important for her to have control of her role and the movie rather than worry about how much she was being paid to do it.
On a related note, J-Lo says she's excited by control...and money doesn't hurt either. Still, it' doesn't drive her. "A lot of things make me horny—I don't think money is one of them," she offers. "I do like money! Money is an amazing thing! I don't know that it turns me on, but it does make things easier."
As for her relationship with Alex Rodriquez, she says part of the magic is that they're both very much alike. ‘He’s an athlete. He wanted to be the best," she explains. "I’m the same way. I just want to be great at what I do. We’re both like that. We're both super-hard workers. We're driven by our passions. And we have a tremendous amount of respect for each other."
And what about her decision to perform at this year's Super Bowl with Shakira? While other performers had turned down the invite because of their support for Colin Kaepernick, J-Lo says she sees all sides of the equation. "I understand people not wanting to do it. Everybody has to make their own choices. They have to feel good about what they're doing," she offers. "I feel like it's an amazing platform and one of the biggest in the world to put out whatever message you want to put out there."
