Matt Lauer’s Ex-Wife Breaks Her Silence… Kind Of

Matt Lauer’s ex-wife Annette Roque has broken her silence following the sexual assault allegation made against the former “Today” show host in Ronan Farrow’s new book “Catch and Kill.” Well… sort of. She’s released a statement through her lawyers to make her priorities clear.

In the statement to People, Roque’s camp points out that “the parties are officially divorced.” To those asking for her comments, they say “her priority and only concern is for their wonderful children.”

For now, that’s all we’ll hear from Roque’s side – the message concludes, “our client will make no further statement.” As you’ll recall, the former couple finalized their divorce last month after splitting up following the allegations made against Lauer two years ago.

But that’s not all the news that’s followed the most recent allegation against Lauer. Page Six reports there was a “disastrous” and “heated” meeting at NBC yesterday. Apparently, during the regular 9am editorial meeting, veteran journalists at “Today” pressed news chief Noah Oppenheim for any information network execs knew before the situation went public. Particularly, some staffers wanted to know whether the accuser Brooke Nevils used the word “assault” in her original 2017 report to HR. Snitches say Oppenheimer dodged the questions citing “confidentiality” concerns.

Meanwhile… Another of Lauer’s accusers has spoken out following Nevils’ bombshell allegation in Farrow’s book. Addie Collins Zinone says she’s “deeply shocked and saddened” by Lauer’s letter refuting the sexual assault claim. “The seeming lack of contrition, misstatements, and threatening tone is an attempt to manipulate and control the narrative for his own gain,” she continues. “He is determined to undermine and tarnish the reputation of the brave women who courageously come forward.”

Also… We told you before that Lauer dipped his toe in a return to the public eye with appearances in his daughter Romy’s TikTok videos. That was just a few days before he was hit with the latest allegation… and yeah, his viral video career was short-lived. His light-hearted videos lip-syncing and dancing have reportedly been deleted from the account.
