Legendary Comedian Rip Taylor Dies

Comedian Rip Taylor has passed. A publicist for the 84-year-old confirms he passed away yesterday in Beverly Hills. A cause of death has not been released. For those who don’t know, the beloved funnyman was as known for his over-the-top antics as much as his habit of showering himself in confetti, which earned him the name "King of Confetti."

He was a frequent guest on variety and talk shows like The Ed Sullivan Show, The Merv Griffin Show and The Gong Show. In modern times, he appeared in several movies including “Repossessed” and “Silence of the Hams.”

Taylor is survived by longtime partner, Robert Fortney. And in lieu of flowers, it’s requested that donations can be made to The Thalians, a charitable organization dedicated to mental health causes.
