We told you that R Kelly wanted to get out of jail. He said that – among other things – his health had been compromised. Unfortunately for him, nobody believes him.
Prosecutors think that Kelz will try to make a run for it. Even though his legal team swears that his passport has no stamps and he’s not a flight risk, the government cited his request to travel to Dubai with his girlfriends. For the record, Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Cleary each got their own passports for the trip. They also think that R will try to tamper with and possibly intimidate witnesses since he “has a history of coercing women to write letters containing false and embarrassing allegations” that he uses to blackmail them.
The prosecutors didn’t even address Kelly’s health issues. Instead, they focused on is claims of being broke. They say it’s misleading because he’s still getting hundreds of thousands of dollars in royalties for his music. They also argued that he’s been redirecting his royalties to a bank account run by his childhood friend. He could just redirect them to himself.
