You just can't go leaving your doors open these days because you never know who might just walk on through. For an elderly couple in California, they learned this the hard way after an unwanted guest landed in their bathroom.
The couple had been watching television when they heard a commotion in their home. Turns out that a mountain lion had wandered in through their open door and ended up locking itself inside their master bathroom.
Edward and Kathy Sudduth of Sonora think the lion must have been chasing a neighbor's pet and ended up in the house. The 87-year-old couple barricaded themselves safely into another room, then called 911 for help to get the unwanted visitor out of their home.
Wildlife officers showed up and coaxed the mountain lion out of a window and it's never been seen since. Turns out that mountain lions aren't really that dangerous to humans since most don't ever act aggressively towards them. A person is 1,000 times more likely to be struck by lightning than attacked by a mountain lion, according to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
