Former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton says the actions of the officers in the water throwing incidents could have been handled differently.
“I think the general consensus is that the incidents should have been reacted to more forcefully by the officers,” Bratton told WOR’s “Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning.”
He admits that some view the city as becoming unruly. But Bratton said crime continues to fall to record low levels.
“There’s a major experiment underway in the city right now to try to assess how much enforcement is actually necessary in New York City in 2019,” Bratton said.
