A Frenchman is the first human to cross the English channel on a hoverboard. Yesterday morning, Franky Zapata took off from Sangatte Beach near Calais and successfully hovered his way across the channel.
Images on French television show how Zapata cruised over the White Cliffs and landed at Saint Margaret's Bay near Dover. Zapata flew a distance of 22-miles at an average speed of 87-miles per hour to complete the trip in 23-minutes.
"I had the chance to land in an extraordinary place. It's beautiful,” Zapata offered afterwards. “My first thought was to my family. It was huge. Thanks to my wife who always supports me in crazy projects. We worked very hard.” See video of the flight to the right.
