Bill Cosby has settled the defamation lawsuit brought against him by Janice Dickinson. Actually, it’s more like his insurance company agreed to settle – much to his chagrin.
To review, the former model claimed that lawyers for the legendary comedian slandered her when they said her claims of sexual assault against Cosby were false. She also says that Cosby made the lawyers do it. AIG settled for an undisclosed amount that her lawyer, Lisa Bloom, said fully and fairly compensates Janice for the defamation.
According to spokesperson Andrew Wyatt, Cosby continues to maintain the lawsuit was without merit and that he never authorized his lawyer’s statement. He’s not happy about the settlement
For the record, this is the third case in recent months AIG settled over Cosby's objections. Cosby's side believes it's illustrative of the insurer's bad faith and is "robbing Mr. Cosby of the opportunity to clear his name in a court of law."
