"Game of Thrones," HBO Lead Emmy Nominations

It was all about “Game of Thrones” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” when the Emmy Award nominations were announced yesterday. The HBO series got a record-breaking 32 nods, including Outstanding Drama Series and 10 actor recognitions. Meanwhile, the Amazon Prime show picked up 20 nods, including Outstanding Lead Actress for Rachel Brosnahan and Outstanding Comedy Series. 

Other notables from the nominations:

  • HBO earned the most nominations among the networks – a whopping 137. Netflix was second with 117. 
  • Ava DuVernay’s take on the Central Park Five, “When They See Us,” earned four nominations.
  • Beyoncé’s “Homecoming” earned six nominations all together. She earned three herself – for directing, music direction, and writing.
