9/11 first responder advocate John Feal said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has told him the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund will pass the Senate with unanimous consent on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
“When we met with Mitch McConnell last month, I came out of that meeting saying that I believed everything he said to us.I shook his hand, I looked him in the eye and so far he’s kept his promise,” Feal told WOR’s “Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning.”
Feal said he believes this will be a clean bill with no attachments. The measure passed the House earlier this month.
“We’re not going to celebrate and we’re not going to jump up and down because more people are going to get sick and more people are going to die,” Feal said.“But what we are going to do is offer financial relief to those who are burdened because they lost a loved one.”
