Madonna’s breakup letter from Tupac Shakur is finally going on the auction blocks. As we previously told you, Madonna tried to argue in court that the letter belonged to her and was taken without her knowledge, but she lost the battle last month. That cleared the way for an auction to move forward, and it’s happening in a matter of days.
Tupac sent Madonna the three-page letter when he was incarcerated back in 1995, ending their relationship. In the letter, the then 24-year-old rapper explains the “effects of racism make it difficult for a young black man to properly show affection for an older white woman.”
The letter’s now set to go up for auction on July 17th at Gotta Have Rock and Roll with a minimum bid of $100K, although it’s expected to go for $300K.
