"Loki is coming to Broadway this summer.
Tom Hiddleston, the villain of Marvel’s “Avengers” movies, will star in a revival of Harold Pinter’s “Betrayal.” The production won raves earlier this year in London and will start previews Aug. 14 at the Jacobs, succeeding another British import, “The Ferryman,” which sails off July 7.
Hiddleston plays a man whose wife cheats on him with his best friend. Pinter’s brilliant trick is to make the play unfold in reverse chronological order. The first scene is the end of the affair, the last scene is the beginning. Along the way, we get suspicion, deception and, in the end, poignancy.
Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz starred in the play’s last revival, in 2013. Jamie Lloyd’s production stars Zawe Ashton as the adulterous wife, and Charlie Cox as her lover."
