It’s always been pretty clear that Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is no fan of President Trump. But now, things have risen to a whole new level as she’s accusing the Trump Administration of housing immigrants at the southern border in "concentration camps."
In an Instagram live feed, the New York Democrat went on to call President Trump a "fascist" for carrying policies that separate immigrant families. Of course, there was some pushback online, and she has since tweeted an article that claims concentration camps have much larger meaning today than usually associated with Nazi camps during World War Two. The President offered no response by press time.
On a related note, the Senate has reached a bi-partisan agreement on a border funding package. The four-point-six-billion-dollar measure includes nearly three-billion for the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which is tasked with housing unaccompanied children who come into the country illegally. That agency is running low on funds. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could send the package to the Senate floor for a vote by the end of next week. It faces an uncertain future in the Democratically-controlled House.
