White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders is leaving – and soon. During a White House event, Trump confirmed the news and credited Sanders with “doing a great job.”
While Sanders has been cagey about why – citing “personal reasons” as the reason for her departure – we do know that she’ll be heading back home to Arkansas. Sanders has been White House press secretary since 2017 and has had a contentious relationship with the national media has been legendary. Most recently, she’s been openly flogged by the press as a “liar.”
Sanders stressed that she has “loved every minute, even the hard minutes” of her tenure and the President noted that he is pushing Sanders to run for governor of her home state. For those who don’t know, Sanders' father, Mike Huckabee, is a former governor there. Sanders noted she will always treasure her time at the White House.
