St. Louis Blues Win First Stanley Cup In Franchise History

Ryan O'Reilly scored for the St. Louis Blues with just over three minutes left in the first period, but it was the goal by Alex Pietrangelo [[peh-TRAN-jel-oh ]] three minutes later that was the back breaker. And now? The St. Louis Blues are celebrating their first Stanley Cup championship.

They beat the Bruins 4-1 in Game Seven of the Stanley Cup Final in Boston. O'Reilly and Pietrangelo scored in the first period and Brayden Schenn and Zach Stanford added goals in the third for St. Louis. Jordan Binnington made 32 saves for the Blues, who had been 0-and-3 all-time in the Stanley Cup Final.

Matt Grzelcyk broke up the shutout late in the third for the Bruins, who were denied their seventh title and first since 2011. Tuukka Rask stopped 16 shots in defeat.
