In case you’ve wondered why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been cool to the notion of impeachment...word is, it’s because she’s got her eyes on a far bigger “prize.” “Politico” is reporting that Pelosi is telling senior Democrats that she'd like to see President Trump in prison.
But that’s not all. “Politico” also says Pelosi clashed with House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler. The meeting reportedly took place late Tuesday night and Politico is citing multiple Democratic sources familiar with the meeting. Nadler reportedly asked Pelosi for the second time to let him start the effort to impeach Trump. Pelosi allegedly responded, "I don't want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison."
But publicly? Pelosi isn’t showing any signs of feeling pressured on impeachment. Speaking at the Capitol yesterday, Pelosi offered, "We know exactly what path we're on." Pelosi called impeachment an "indictment" and said a rock-solid case must be built first. She said there is "great grief and sadness and pain in our country about the behavior of this President." There were no comments from Mr. Trump on the report by press time.
