Otis Williams, the last surviving member of The Temptations, says he was “very touched” the first time he saw the Broadway show “Ain’t Too Proud.”
The musical has been a hit at the box office and is considered a favorite at the Tony Awards.Williams told WOR’s “Len Berman and Michael Riedel” that in addition to the music, it’s a good story about the group.
“If you’re going to tell the story, you might as well tell it with honesty.I’ve been through a lot, but I’m still around to be able to enjoy seeing the play,” Williams said.
He called the show “very touching” and said he still gets emotional at points of the show, including the moment when he loses a son.
Williams and The Temptations are being honored with their own star on the Apollo Walk of Fame.They’re joining other greats such as Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson and Diana Ross.
