No matter what Wikipedia says, Bryan Cranston is no Phillies fan!
He's mostly just a fan of the game, but he figures he knows where the Philadelphia rumors came from.
"I was doing a play in New Jersey and we had a few days off and so I contacted the Phillies and I said, 'Hey, can I come down and watch the game?'" he recalls to 710 WOR's Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning.
The Phillies agreed and then asked if Cranston was interested in throwing out the first pitch? That's a hard honor to turn down, and being a fan of the home team isn't a prerequisite for participating in the opening ceremonies.
Then they gave Cranston a Phillies jersey.
"I said, 'Oh, I guess I'm putting this on.'"
Whether he wore it out of deference to the home team of fear of retaliation for the Phillies' maniacal fans, remains unclear.
