“Did you, Candice Bergen, go on a date with Donald Trump?” Colbert asked. “And I remind you, you’re under oath.”
“I was very young!” Bergen defended herself. “I was about 18 and- Trump and I are about the same age, or as he would point out, I’m about six months older. And it was when I was at Penn.”
She tried to recall the date and said “I remember that it was- I might have invented this because it was so perfect, but I think he was wearing a burgundy suit with a burgundy vest and a burgundy patent leather boots and was in a burgundy limousine,” Bergen told Colbert. “And so it was kind of a symphony of burgundy.” She did tell Colbert that she was "home very early."
Colbert also found out that she once went on a date with Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. Bergen did say that Kissinger was the better date.
