An armed customer in the drive thru window at a Santa Ana restaurant saw a crook holding employees at gunpoint. The drive thru customer fired 3 shots into the restaurant striking the gunman twice. The crook ran from the restaurant and collapsed across the street where police arrested him. The third shot hit and wounded the soda machine. The drive thru hero fled the scene.
